Cathodic Protection Services

Cathodic Protection Services

Pipeline integrity is of the utmost importance for the natural gas and oil industries. Though our coating applications mitigate a host of potential risks, in certain situations more technical and effective strategies must be employed to mitigate the risk of corrosion. One of these strategies involves cathodic protection.

What is Cathodic Protection?

Cathodic protection is a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by connecting protected metal to a more easily corroded sacrificial metal. The sacrificial metal then corrodes instead of the protected metal. Cathodic protection systems are routinely used to protect natural gas pipelines.

Cathodic Protection Services

Tank Services has extensive experience providing cathodic protection for pipelines. We install deep well and conventional anode ground bed systems designed to protect and extend the life of the protective coating applied to the pipeline.
